Store Manager

As a child, all I wanted to do was tinker and spend time on my bikes. A trait that has followed me into Adulthood. I find there is nothing more relaxing than an evening bike ride and the two hours after cleaning the bike, ensuring every piece of sand is removed from my cassette. 

 

As young as 14, I started my very first job in a local family owned bike shop (In Cambridge – The UK's cycling capital, if you didn't know about it). But it never really felt like work. It was more like a Communal place to share your interests and talk about your latest ride-out. It was fun.

 

10 years ago now, I discovered an Electric Bike. A heavy, monstrous, undesirable contraption. I thought to myself. Why would any body want such a thing, it confused me? But it soon became apparent, it was the perfect companion to the owner. Although It wasn't untill a few years later I would come to see the true potential of the eBike. The Crank Drive. 

 

This new desirable, attractive machine was interesting. I wanted to know more. I wanted to play with them. So I took a job at a local eBike specialist store, as a mechanic. This wasn't enough so in 3 months I was Managing the store. This still wasn't enough. I wanted to dig deep and take an eBike  store back a notch, to the true essence of the local bike shop.

 

The future of the electric bike's, is exciting. What's old has become new. Where conglomerates have taken over the normal bike trade. The electric bike store has the potential to dig deep back into those nostalgic roots of the local bike shop. Including a community of happy eBiker's and a shop where they can count on my care and support. Its almost 'electrifying'. I felt this could be better served through Charged UK, as they share the same passion and vision.

So… it was time for a new page in this story and Here We Are.

Fully converted themselves, the Charged team are all true eBike enthusiasts. We literally live and breathe electric bikes. Providing you with the best first hand knowledge and advice. We offer a 1 month exchange service, if you believe its the wrong model or size. 

 

To ensure the best level of service and experience. Each member of our team regularly attends Accredited training events. As well as Cytech mechanical training, we are currently trained to deliver the best support and advice for: Bosch; Yamaha; Shimano; Impulse; Trans-x; and brose. Making us, probably, the best qualified electric bike store in the UK.

As a company we are not interested in selling to the continent and afar. Our aim is to deliver the best truly local support and experience. We want to build a community of eBiker's in the UK and ensure that we are always there for you. Basically we want to become the nations favourite, eBike store.

We do not believe in a 'bike in a box' approach and offer a very unique service to solve this. No matter where you are in the UK, we will do our utmost best to hand deliver the bike to your doorstep, fully assembled. What do we mean fully assembled? Each bike goes through our fully equipped workshop. Ensuring that every component is seated right, each bolt is torqued correctly and your eBike has the latest firmware uploaded. On arrival we will then make the effort to ensure the bike is set up to you. Giving you the best ride from day one.
